Pinellas County Schools – Student Data Modernization Initiative

• The development of a centralized web application for Power BI reports allowed PCS staff to access all reports through a single, secure portal, reducing administrative overhead and improving efficiency.
• The implementation of custom RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and integration with Active Directory enhanced the security of data access, ensuring that only authorized users could view sensitive information. This solution also scaled easily with the growing number of reports, addressing previous challenges related to security audits and access management.
• Migrating the data warehouse to MS Azure and automating data processes reduced manual intervention, minimized errors, and improved data management efficiency. This modernization allowed PCS to better handle their data needs and respond more quickly to reporting requirements.
• The improvements in data access and management were well-received by PCS users, who praised the convenience and functionality of the new system, leading to higher user satisfaction and more effective data-driven decision-making.
